Deco Diamond Mood Board

The Deco Diamond Story

“Architectural detailing from the Art Deco period inspired my geometric rug.  Deco emphasised geometric forms, spheres, polygons, rectangles, zig zags, chevrons and sunburst motifs, most commonly arranged in symmetrical patterns in rich, bold colours” Wendy.

Wendy Morrison Deco Diamond Rug

Our Deco Diamond rug is a real statement piece. It is hand tufted in our workshop in India using soft wool in striking, bold colours.  We have picked some stunning interior pieces that complement the design perfectly. First let’s set the mood with this Brighton Pavilion Palm Wallpaper by Architects Direct (available in the UK from Wallpaper Direct) This design is subtle enough to support the scheme, letting the rug and the chosen pieces take centre stage, whilst oozing with style at the same time.

The Tall Palm Tree Table Lamp from Graham & Green is in harmony with the wallpaper (and the pewter sofa below) and will radiate a cosy glow through a black shade. The palm leaf detail echoes the palm leaves in the wallpaper and will raise a smile, which is always important in our opinion!

Sticking with lighting Wendy has chosen this beautiful Rowan Striped Pendant by Ebb & Flow (available in the UK from John Lewis). The toned glass globe is decorated with a metallic stripe (seen here in copper) to give warmth and sophistication and there is the added detailing of matching fixtures and flex. This decadent piece gives a nod to the decadence of the Art Deco period.

Warm tones of antique brass and the sophistication of glass can also be found in the West Elm Terrace Coffee Table. We’ve seen this coffee table pop up on our instagram feed quite a bit.  This image is via The Pink Dream and was styled by Ceres.  It’s EVEN more stunning in real life.  There is a mirrored glass base creating a beautiful pattern of reflected flowers and candle flickers (that is of course if you’ve styled your table as so!) and looks absolutely magical.  There’s a lot of space to put books and glasses down but it doesn’t take up too much room – so you’d get more rug.

Fancy a sit down? This Margot 2 Seater Sofa in Pewter from Made.Com is in the same dark neutral grey as the wallpaper.  Soft velvet adds luxury and comfort.  It has a traditional buttoned backrest and we love how the wooden legs and brass tips finish it off.  Yep, it’s all in the detailing.

And for your guest? We need a yellow accent to pick out the yellow in the rug so how about this mid-century cocktail ‘Lula’ chair from Fern & Grey…

We need to pick out the pink accent of the rug too.  We think this Roxburgh Fuchsia cushion from Designers Guild is absolutely perfect. The geometrical velvet pattern meets the geometric design of Deco Diamond and the colour is a match.

Now that’s all sorted did somebody mention cocktails?   More warm tones and decadence needed … We should really serve them on something rather marvellous like the Luxe Drinks Trolley from Oliver Bonas. Don’t you agree?
