Georgio Armani Spring 2017

First up this stunning blue velvet dress from Georgio Armani’s Spring 2017 collection.  It’s luxurious, it’s sumptuous and it’s cute as a button too. This rich hue sets off the jewelled embellishment perfectly. The colour blue is a big thing in fashion and interiors right now.  Kate Watson-Smyth, interiors writer and author, has just launched her first collection with Made.com and yes, you’ve guessed it, blue velvet features a lot.  And to see how interiors quickly follows fashion then note the blue walls that can be seen in most interior mags gracing coffee tables around the land as we speak.

Wendy’s latest creation, Jardin de Chinois, hits this trend.  It is handknotted in sapphire blue wool with golden viscose to accentuate the design detail, which creates a luxurious and opulent feel.

Vintage Fabric (1970s)

We are being inspired by retro geometrics of late and so when perusing Pinterest recently we couldn’t resist pinning this.  The pink is a lovely accent to emerald green and the black grounds these colours creating a punchy, graphic design.  Many of Wendy’s rugs feature bold use of colour with a similar use of black, see in particular her Aster rug, Deco Diamond rug and Crochet.

Hover, from the Ligna collection from Arte International.

Textured cranes take flight across a wooden background in this beautiful wall covering by Arte International.  The design and the texture give a real sense of movement and of bringing the outdoors in.  These birds are a huge source of inspiration for many designers due to their shape, their grace and the symbolism associated with cranes.  They symbolise longevity due to living long lives and their white feathers represent old age.  They are also regarded as having high status due to the bird being seen as having first rank in imperial hierarchy and when they’re in flight they symbolise ambition. ‘Hover’ comes in three colour ways.

House of Hackney Flamingo Lamp – Quartz Pink

We’ve been keeping an eye out for House of Hackney of late.  We loved their palm leaf wallpaper earlier this year. On a personal note Wendy is looking for a lamp and stumbled upon this fun, statement piece.  You’d want two though wouldn’t you?! It has such character and is clearly very well made.  An investment piece!
